Chandigarh Design School Founder Mentors Students at UIET AI and Robotics Workshop

Chandigarh, January 17, 2025Vineet Raj Kapoor, Founder of Chandigarh Design School (CDS), was invited to the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University Chandigarh, to mentor students during a 3-Day Workshop on AI, CAD Modeling, and Robotics, held from 15–17 January 2025.

The workshop, titled “Hands-On AI, CAD Modeling, and Robotics for Advanced Engineering Solutions,” was organized by the Sensor Energy and Automation Lab (SEAL), UIET under the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s SPARC initiative.


Expert Guidance on Cutting-Edge Technologies

Key collaborators for the workshop included:

  • Dr. Gaurav Sapra, Professor Rajesh Kumar, and Dr. Garima Joshi from UIET.
  • Dr. Ankur Gupta from PGIMER’s Department of Cardiology.
  • Professors Mohsen Rahmani and Cuifeng Ying from Nottingham Trent University, UK.

Vineet Raj Kapoor, India’s WorldSkills Lead Expert for Industrial Design Technology, provided mentorship on:

  • Preparing for WorldSkills IDT Competitions with insights from WorldSkills 2024 in Lyon, France.
  • Navigating the Indiaskills Selection Process, including district to national-level competitions.

Kapoor inspired students to aim for the WorldSkills 2026 in Shanghai, sharing strategies for success and encouraging them to innovate.


Workshop Recognition and Contributions

The valedictory session featured PU Dean of International Students, Professor Kewal Krishan, who emphasized the real-world applications of AI, including signature verification technology. Professor Rajesh Kumar expressed gratitude to Vineet Raj Kapoor for his expertise and guidance.

Kapoor reflected on the experience:
“Mentoring students at UIET was a unique opportunity to empower the next generation of engineers. Bridging the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge is critical, and CDS is committed to this mission.”

He also previewed his upcoming book, “SOLVXD: Think in Steps,” offering practical insights for aspiring designers and educators.

Neelu Kapoor, Co-Founder of CDS, shared her excitement:
“This is the first CDS mentoring session at UIET. We’ve had the privilege of guiding students at institutions like Thapar, PEC, Chitkara, and more. The quality of work from UIET students is exceptional, and we’re proud to support such initiatives.”
