Chandigarh Design School Conducts Design Thinking FDP at Pune University

Pune University Faculty Trained in Design Thinking by Chandigarh Design School

Chandigarh, December 6, 2024 – Chandigarh Design School Founder, Vineet Raj Kapoor, conducted an impactful Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Design Thinking for a select group of 45 faculty members from Pune University. The sessions, focusing on “Impact of Storytelling” and “Case Studies – Innovation and Entrepreneurship,” aimed to empower educators with tools to effectively teach and apply Design Thinking principles in their fields.

Vineet Raj Kapoor, recognized as India’s IDT Lead Expert for WorldSkills and the Founder of SXILL and Chandigarh Design School, reflected on the program:
“Training the esteemed faculty of Pune University was a rewarding experience. Design Thinking is a nuanced and often misunderstood subject. Our approach was to provide relatable examples and practical case studies in storytelling and entrepreneurship, making the concepts accessible and actionable. A special emphasis was placed on empathetic thinking, which remains a critical gap in the UX design industry in India. Many industry professionals and trainers still view UX Design as an afterthought, rather than an integral aspect of innovation and problem-solving. As a Design Thinking practitioner since 2014, I feel responsible for bridging this gap by creating awareness and producing skilled manpower to meet industry needs.”

Kapoor added with a smile, “Don’t worry, all these insights will be included in my upcoming book, SOLVXD: Think in Steps, which will provide a structured approach to mastering Design Thinking.”

Neelu Kapoor, Indiaskills Graphic Design Technology Jury member and Co-Founder of SXILL, highlighted the broader vision of Chandigarh Design School:
“This marks the third Faculty Development Program we’ve conducted at Pune University. Previously, we’ve delivered FDPs at prestigious institutions like Thapar University, Chitkara University, GNDU, and Panjab University. Additionally, we’ve expanded internationally, partnering with leading global institutions for Design Thinking programs. Training faculty is particularly impactful because it equips them to influence thousands of students, shaping the future of design education.”

Chandigarh Design School remains committed to enhancing the understanding and application of Design Thinking, ensuring that both educators and students are prepared to innovate and excel in the rapidly evolving design and UX landscape.
